We are pleased to announce the<strong>\u00a0Call for Papers for the XII Symposium Platonicum: Plato\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong><em><b>Parmenides<\/b><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Symposium will take place\u00a0<strong>July 15\u201320, 2019, in Paris<\/strong>. Although the dialogue has been the object of intense scholarly scrutiny, many issues remain to be explored. Submissions on any aspect of the dialogue, including its presocratic sources as well as later reception, will be considered. We also would like to encourage papers that address issues in the dialogue\u2019s second half since it has received relatively less attention.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome abstracts from all IPS members, full and associate. If you are not yet a member of the International Plato Society, criteria for membership and information about joining are available at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/platosociety.org\/membership\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/platosociety.org\/membership\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1536673546649000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFt82wPYs6DCRWUYLXkQRp4_5aaBw\">https:\/\/platosociety.org\/<wbr \/>membership\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you intend to submit an abstract, please make sure that your IPS dues are paid for 2016\u201319 at least one week before making your submission. If you are unsure whether you are a member in good standing, check the status of your account on the website or send an e-mail to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:web@platosociety.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">web@platosociety.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Length<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Papers should be suitable for 20-minute presentations, but authors may be asked to expand their papers to be presented at one of the 40-minute plenary sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Your abstract should be 800\u20131200 words and you must submit versions\u00a0<strong>in any\u00a0<i>two\u00a0<\/i>of the Society\u2019s five official languages<\/strong>\u00a0(English, French, Italian, Spanish, or German).<\/p>\n<p>To ensure blind-review by the IPS Executive Committee please remove any identifying information from the abstract and the file properties.
